Mister Shut is among the first companies in Italy to have undertaken the study and design of armored glass structures. The bodies were designed with special structural reinforcements to house the glass and distribute the considerable weight of the armored glass while simultaneously respecting the thermal and acoustic performance.  

The classification of glass follows different paths since glass, in general, can have different applications, such as:

• Chamber glass for windows and doors
• Accident prevention glass
• Bulletproof glass

The tests relating to anti-crime glass, i.e. those to be installed on armored doors for residential use, determine resistance classes based on resistance to flat and pointed hammer blows. These glasses are identified with the following acronyms:

• P5A (test of dropping a 4.11 kg sphere from a height of 900 mm)
• P6B – P8B (in addition to the above drop test, resistance to hammer blows and cuts) 

The combination of the armored door with the relevant glass usually requires that an RC3 class blind door be equipped with P5A class glass, considered by many manufacturers to be more than adequate for residential use.

Mister Shut basically uses only P6B anti-crime certified glass, which offers resistance ranging from 30 to 50 hammer and cut blows. These glasses are coupled with highly insulating double glazing and safety laminated glass.
